Sometimes it’s easier, better and much more fun to do it yourself but you can’t do it without the kit. Even if the know how comes from Youtube videos, many tasks around the house can be resolved without the need to phone a handyman or expert. As for the big issues….Well, c’mon trust in the experts!

The FOLAI Stud Finder – This is a great stud finder and wall scanner with a buzzer and LCD display. Good for picking up wires, metal and joists.

They come in of 4 are 2mm thick and look fantastic once they’re up. You can get that bathroom, bedroom, or gym massive mirror wall for cheap!
Rabbit Goo Window Film Privacy – This comes in many forms, reflective, frosted or with designs. We’ve tried out the reflective and whilst it took a little getting used to when first adding it (lots of soapy water, more than you think!) they turned out brilliantly.
Cheap way to better privacy and ideal with road facing homes, or keeping out nosey neighbours. The reflective one only affected the home lighting coming in from the window little bit. And remember of a night to draw your blinds cause mirror effect works the opposite way in the dark!

Black and Decker Jigsaw – This is a multifunctional powered handsaw and jigsaw which is why we are recommending it for a beginner.
There’s a decent safety lock on it, variable speed control and it can cut through most of what a starter would need, plastic, wood and metal! Will even help with those small trees that need cutting back.
Black and Decker 400W Scorpion Powered Electric Saw, Jigsaw and Prune
Jesties Anti Slip Rug Grippers – With shiny floors in and carpets out, life can be all about the great rug but so many fine looking rugs can be pretty slippery.
These pads will help keep the rug down, they’re washable, you get 10 in a pack and are easy to fit!
The Stanley Fatmax Toolbox – Everyone doing DIY will end up getting themselves a toolbox for all the small tools, nails and fixings.
This one may cost more than your average Poundland special but it’s not going to break. Used by those in the trade, it is water tight, organised and the lever trays make it easy to grab what you need as you work.
It’s a rugged design and more of a square shape, making it easier to pack away. Big metal clamps to close it so no risk of that box flying open as you’re carrying your gear to a job.
